Article: NETHERLANDS ANTILLES: Offshore business regs stiffened

The American Embassy in the Hague on February 2 discussed stiffened offshore business regulations in the Netherlands Antilles in a report, details of which follow:

1. The Dutch and Netherlands Antilles' Governments on January 9,1995 concluded an agreement which will gradually do away with fiscal incentives offered by the Netherlands Antilles to encourage financial offshore activities like mailbox companies and special "penshonado" facilities for retirees although most details need to be worked out.
