Article: Raw Material for FRP to Be Jointly Produced by Japan and China

Dainippon Ink and Chemicals, Inc. (DIC) and Itochu Co. of Japan will work with Tianma Group Corp. of China and set up Changzhou Huari New Materials Co.. The joint venture company will produce and market unsaturated polyester resin and sheetmolding compound (SMC). According to the plan, the company will use DIC production process and start construction in April this year. The 30 000 t/a unsaturated polyester resin capacity of Tianma Group Corp. will be doubled. The 10 000 t/a SMC unit will also be completed in November this year.
