Article: Reinforced Plastics Demand Growing 3.5% Annually in N. America

According to a new study from The Freedonia Group, Inc. (Cleveland, OH), demand for reinforced plastics in North America will expand 3.5% annually to 4.2 billion pounds in the year 2000. This will stem from improved economic conditions, resin and processing improvements and performance advantages over metals, wood and glass. Thermoset resins will continue to dominate due to their low cost and excellent performance in a wide range of applications.
