The ice-cream business in Indonesia has good prospects of growth. This can be seen from the growing number of ice-cream counters at supermarkets and shopping centers. The fact that Indonesian economy is improving while domestic consumption of dairy products is still low has encouraged investors to enter the ice-cream business by selling famous foreign brands although such brands are quite expensive to average Indonesian consumers.
According to a source with the Department of Industry, there are currently at least 10 ice-cream producers operating in Indonesia with a combined production capacity of 8.757,480 liters per annum. These 10 companies are found in Jakarta ...
