Article: IRISH FERRIES SIGN FIVE-YEAR DEAL WITH MORLAIX

After months of negotiations, Irish Ferries, the ferry operator owned by Irish Continental Group, has finally signed a deal with the French port authority of Morlaix which gives its car ferries access to the Breton port of Roscoff. Irish Ferries applied to the Morlaix Chamber of Commerce and Industry for access to Roscoff in November 1994, with a view to commencing a ferry service between Ireland and Brittany this Summer. Following negotiations, the two sides agreed in principle on the question of access last December for the season beginning May 27, 1995.
