Aca Joe plans 90 more stores within year

WASHINGTON (FNS) -- Aca Joe International, the 100-store men's specialty apparel chain that does 40 percent of its business with women, expects to have 190 stores by the end of 1987, according to chairman Walter A. Singer.

The San Francisco-based chain, which has grown from five stores in February 1985, has sales of $400 per square foot in its 1,000-square-foot stores, and expects that to grow to $600 per square foot by the end of next year and $800 by the end of 1988, Singer told analysts at a consumer growth stock seminar hosted last week by the Baltimore-based brokerage firm Alex, Brown & sons.
