Hesse Says Plan For Natural Gas Almost Finished

An upcoming natural gas strategy is very close to being ready, but probably won't be unveiled until shortly after the first of January, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Martha Hesse said.

Hesse, in an interview with The Oil Daily, said she'd hoped to finish the strategy before the end of 1986, but doubted that would be possible because of the holidays.

She also indicated that the strategy would provide a very specific "game plan' for how --and when--the commission will proceed with major issues it faces, such as take-or-pay and undue discrimination.
