On the international market, the price of wheat has continued to fluctuate not only because of changes in the climate but also because of the fact that wheat has become an object of futures trading with some speculative element in it. Nonetheless, at least for the past five years (1990-1994), the price of wheat on the international market fluctuated at relatively low rates, not to say that it was relatively stable.
