Zinc oxide is a chemical product which is widely used as an additive by the tire, paint, ceramic, and cosmetic industries. Although a number of zinc oxide producers have been operating in Indonesia, their combined output has not been large enough to meet domestic demand. This condition seems to have encourage one zinc oxide producer to make a plan on expanding its production capacity.
In August 1995, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) issued a permanent license to PT Indo Lysaght for its plan on expanding its annual zinc oxide production capacity by 10,000 tons. This expansion project requires an investment commitment of Rp 7.2 billion, of which some Rp 6.1 ...
