In NC, Machinery Sales in Sharp Hike That is Expected to Continue in 1987 CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Although 1986 started slowly for the textile machinery business, it took a sharp turn for the better that should carry over into 1987, say a number of textile machinery manufacturers contacted by DNR.
Reasons for the upturn given by machinery builders include a more favorable economic climate--with a weaker dollar, lower interest rates, and improved business among their textile manufacturing customers--resulting in capital spending outlays, and streamlining of their own operations.
