According to the first environmental performance report (for 1994) of Waste Management International plc (WMI), its environmental compliance system is "second to none in the environmental services industry". Plans to certify WMI's environmental management system to national standards are to be piloted in the UK and The Netherlands, says the report. The company's system was reviewed by the US management consultants, Arthur D. Little Inc.
