Article: COHESION FUND: COMMISSION ALLOCATES LAST 1995 FUNDS

Summary: For the third year running, the European Commission has used up all the money available from the European Union's Cohesion Fund for Spain, Portugal, Greece and Ireland. In 1995, the Commission approved no less than 225 transport and environment projects involving EU grants to the tune of ECU 2.151 billion. Spain received 55% of this funding, Greece and Portugal 18% each and Ireland 9%.
