Article: A first for Sarawak

The Rimbunan Hijau Group (RHG) is a company with interests in news- paper, optical fibre cables, truck assembly, shipping, travel, minerals, insurance, tyres, cocoa, and banking. But its core business - and the one on which the whole group was founded in 1975 - is timber.

The company celebrated its 20th anniversary in May last year and appropriately, considering its timber background, commissioned its brand new particleboard mill in June.

The Subur Tiasa particleboard factory at Sibu in Sarawak is, in fact, the fifth multi-million dollar downstream timber processing facility set up by Rimbunan Hijau in the last eight years.
