Article: Subur Tiasa Plywood factory

This mill was established in 1989 and produces tropical hardwood plywood in grades of BB/CCIHPA, BB/CC JPIC, and marine grade, in sizes of 3ft x 6ft, and 4ft x 8ft as well as various sizes for container flooring. Thicknesses of 3-28mm are produced.

The species used are meranti, keruing, kapur, mersawa, melapi, nyatoh, durian, and other mixed species, with logs coming from the Kapit area. Transport to the factory is by barges called Tongkang which travel the Rejang River on whose banks the mill stands, next door to the new Subur Tiasa particleboard factory.
