Morocco called fertile textile growth country
NEW YORK -- "Morocco will be a mecca for textiles within the next two or three years," predicted Oussama Rhissasi, director of the Moroccan Office of Industrial Development here.
"Morocco is in close proximity, only 6-1/2 hours from New York, the labor cost is a 10th of what it is in the U.S. (55 cents an hour), and best of all, there is no quota on goods exported from Morocco to the U.S.," Rhissassi explained, as he talked about the 10th Annual International Textile and Leather Fair to be held Feb. 19 to 22 in Casablanca.
