Mullin leaves Reader for fellowship

Jim Mullin can chart his decade as editor of The Reader by little pink telephone message slips.

Mullin has saved almost every phone message he has received in the last 10 years on more than a dozen tightly stacked desktop spikes. The full spikes take up the entire top shelf of a wall-sized bookcase in his office that contains mullin's collection of The Reader back issues.

"I'm a terrible pack rat," Mullin explains to a visitor to his cramped office in the old brunswick Drug Building on States Street downtown.
