LOS ANGELES Q In fiscal year 1995, Los Angeles Dist. awarded $228.63 million to outside contractors, including 105 total contracts, 1,400 modifications, 965 delivery orders, and a profusion of small purchases. That included a healthy load for both military construction and civil works. The district does HTRW remediation, Support for Others, and real-estate operations, but its major mission is designing and constructing flood-control, shore-protection, and environmental-enhancement projects.
