MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Minnesota-based software developer Open Systems, Inc. announced today it won an early legal victory in its battle against software pirates this week, with a judgement against VistaCo Inc., of Gainsville, Fla., in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida (Jacksonville).

The judgement, which comes barely one month after Open Systems initated the suit, permanently enjoins VistaCo from reproducing and reselling the developer's software, and awards $40,000 in past damages to Open Systems.
