With delays likely to hit Bangkok's new airport project, additional capacity may have to be eked from the existing facility to serve the Thai capital into the early years of the next century. The results of a study on how to achieve that additional capacity were expected as Airports International went to press, by the end of August. Options are expected to include commandeering existing office space at the northern end of the airport, adding more airbridges and extending the parking apron.
Bangkok Don Muang has been expanded piecemeal over the years, and the site has a theoretical capacity limitation of 25 million passengers a year. The two ...
