Andy Warhol lived and worked bythose words, and it made him wildly successful. By elevating publicity itself to an art form, he became one of the most famous artists in the world--his Campbell's Soup cans prints are identifiable to millions who may never set foot in a gallery, and his celebrity silk-screens are accessible to anyone willing to pay the $2.50 cover price for his Interview magazine. His death at age 58 comes at a time when his maxim has never rung more true.
