Tango with Tambo
SECRETARY OF STATE George Shultz granted a privateaudience and a public photo opportunity to Oliver Tambo the other day, thereby awarding a measure of legitimacy, prestige, and power to an organization it would be pedantically polite to call crypto-Communist. Thanks to a recent amendment to its by-laws, the African National Congress can now have non-blacks on its thirty-man executive committee. It has added five, all Communists. At least ten of the other members are thought to be Communists too.
