Article: EPA Finds No Chemical Endocrine Disruption

But agency says further study is needed to define scope of the problem.

AFTER REVIEWING NEARLY 300 studies on the health effects of industrial chemicals suspected of disrupting the hormonal systems of humans and animals, Environmental Protection Agency says no conclusive evidence has emerged linking low-level environmental exposure to these chemicals with any human ailment.

However, the agency also found that animals and wildlife can be adversely affected by these so-called endocrine disrupting chemicals, and says that despite limited data on the effects on humans, the potential risks, especially to children, warrant further research.
