1. Present circulation status of the medicine market

China's pharmaceutical industry has a considerable size. The total output value of the pharmaceutical industry in 1995 exceeded 100 billion yuan, in which the output value of the chemical medicine sector was nearly 70 billion yuan. The chemical medicine sector has 1 300 factories and can produce more than 1 300 varieties of crude medicines in 24 categories and over 3 500 varieties of preparations.
