AKRON, Ohio, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. (NYSE: FIR) and its chairman John J. Nevin have entered into a new employment agreement, the terms of which will provide that Nevin will continue as an executive of or consultant to Firestone until he attains age 65 in February 1992.

During the term of the contract, Nevin has agreed to remain as chief executive officer of the company until Firestone's board of directors elects a successor.
