Calumet Refining Installing Hydrotreating Process
CHICAGO -- Aiming to become the leader in the napthenic lube oil industry, Calumet Industries here is installing a "revolutionary" new technology called the HydroCal II Process. It is a specialty hydrotreating process that will give it the ability to produce a range of quality lube oils.
Roger Garey, senior vice president at Calumet, told The Oil Daily that the new process represents an investment of $23.5 million. Construction on the new plant began last fall, and should be completed by September 1.
