DETROIT, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Chairman Lee A. Iacocca today announced that the Chrysler Corporation Fund will sponsor a major exhibition of American paintings at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art this fall.
"American Paradise: The World of the Hudson River School," on view at the Metropolitan from Oct. 4 through Jan. 3, will bring together some 85 works by masters of 19th century American landscape painting, the school of painting that first brought international attention to American art. Many of the paintings in the show will be on loan for the first time.
