Spring cleaning at Jim Bakker's PTL
Along the manicured drive just insidethe PTL Club's Heritage USA theme park, a freshly planted bed of white alyssum spells out "Forgiven.' At the Heritage Gift Shoppe in the resort's turn-of-the-century-decor shopping mall, hot-selling T-shirts are emblazoned with the same earnest message. "We want Jim Bakker to know that Jesus forgives him and so do we, and we want him to come back,' explained Marian Mullica, an ex-beautician from Pittsburgh who moved here to work as a volunteer in the PTL ministry founded by Bakker and his wife Tammy Faye.
