The Scripps Institution of Oceanography is Nation's Marine Research Leader
SAN DIEGO -- The nation's oldest and largest center of marine research -- the 84-year-old Scripps Institution of Oceanography is receiving the Offshore Technology Conference's 1987 Distinguished Achievement Award.
The award cites the San Diego institution for its long history of pioneering research and development that "has contributed materially to the exploration for and recovery of marine resources."
