NEW YORK, May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- President Reagan acted wisely in rejecting El Salvador's request that temporary refuge be given to the half-million Salvadoran illegal aliens living in the United States, Donald Mann, president of Negative Population Growth, Inc., stated here yesterday.

In making the request, the El Salvadoran government argued that the return of its illegal emigrants would have a disastrous impact on the Salvadoran economy.
