COMPAQ COMPUTER CORPORATION OPENS SINGAPORE MANUFACTURING FACILITY

SINGAPORE, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Compaq Computer Corporation today officially opened its Singapore printed circuit board assembly facility, its first satellite manufacturing facility outside the United States. The main printed circuit board assembly facility is located at the company's headquarters site in Houston.

Assembly began last month at the facility, and by the end of 1987 the monthly production rate is projected to exceed 40,000 units.
