LOW-COST FIBER OPTIC ARCNET LAN INTRODUCED FOR PC MARKET

YONKERS, N.Y., June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Codenoll Technology Corp. (NASDAQ: CODN) and Standard Microsystems Corp. (NASDAQ: SMSC) today introduced a new product which allows the implementation of ARCNET PC LANS on fiber optic cable at a cost only slightly higher than that of traditional copper cable.

The product, called CodeNet Fiber Optic ARCNET, is a single card that plugs into any IBM PC or compatible and attaches directly to the fiber optic cable. it is the first product to result from the strategic alliance formed between the two companies last February.
