NEW YORK -- Abercrombie & Fitch has filed suit against American Eagle Outfitters, charging the firm with "intentional and systematic copying" of the Abercrombie brand, images and business practices.
Pitting one hot casualwear chain against another, the suit was filed Tuesday in the Federal District Court in Columbus, Ohio. It alleged that American Eagle copied Abercrombie's merchandise, marketing and catalog by using lettering similar to Abercrombie's trademark in "bold condensed typeface" and design logos such as a ski patrol cross and lacrosse sticks.
Abercrombie said in the suit that American Eagle's activities are "likely to mislead the trade and public" ...
