LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1998--KCAL 9, L.A.'s premier provider of local professional sports, has entered into a new long-term agreement with the Los Angeles Lakers that secures KCAL 9's broadcast rights through the 2004-2005 season.

The announcement was jointly made today by Vincent Young, chairman of Young Broadcasting Inc. and Jerry Buss, owner of the Los Angeles Lakers Inc.

Under the terms of the new seven year deal, KCAL 9 will broadcast 41 Los Angeles Lakers pre-season and regular season away games. Additionally, KCAL 9 has the broadcast rights to all post-season away games not subject to NBA/network commitments. As part of the agreement ...
