Secretary-General suggests Security Council ministerial-level meeting to explore Iran-Iraq situation
SECRETARY-GENERAL JavierPerez de Cuellar has proposed that the Security Council consider convening an urgent meeting at the level of foreign ministers to deal with the continuing Iran-Iraq war. "What we need at this stage is a meeting of minds at the highest political level', he told a press conference on 13 January at Headquarters.
"The Security Council at thehighest possible level has to understand that it must do something in order to stop a conflict which not only is extremely costly in human lives but also has the potential to extended to the whole ...
