Article: A chain reaction in panel pressing

At first glance, the textile industry may seem to have little in common with wood based panels. However, the fact that Krefeld, historically one of the centres of the German textile industry, is now the home of several machinery companies supplying panel manufacturers suggests otherwise.

Eduard Kusters Maschinenfabrik was founded in Krefeld in 1949 to develop machinery for that textile industry but it was soon involved in paper production - a more familiar starting point for entry into the panel industry - and then in wood based panels.
