LOUISVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29, 1998--Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) opened its first international restaurant in Mexico City yesterday. Papa John's has licensed the restaurant development rights for the country of Mexico to Grupo Mexicano del Pacifico (GMP), a Mexican business group. The first restaurant opened to excitement from local leaders, community members and Papa John's team members.
GMP plans to open a significant number of franchised and sub-franchised Papa John's restaurants throughout Mexico. Subsequent development in Mexico will be in the Mexico City metropolitan market, followed by development in other key markets throughout ...
