CHICAGO, Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) recently approved a statement of health care policies and principles, reflecting the osteopathic profession's stance on key health care issues.
Addressed in the statement were such issues as the patient bill of rights, which outlined a series of patient protections necessary to preserve the physician patient relationship; access to emergency medical services without "prior approval" in the event of a medical emergency; and greater access to health care for minorities.
