Saturn Corp. plans to move hundreds of product engineers from its payroll to General Motors North American Operations.
The transfer is another phase of Saturn's absorption into GM's small-car group.
Saturn has about 700 product engineers who create vehicles and components. Over the next couple of years, Saturn will give up half to three-quarters of the staff. NAO engineers will create Saturn products, with the remaining Saturn engineers ensuring that the work sticks to the Saturn brand image.
