DETROIT - Growing sales of Ford Motor Co.'s new Super Duty commercial truck platform could push F-series sales over 800,000 units for 1998.
By giving customers more selection and filling a gap in Ford's truck lineup, the F-series Super Duty has boosted monthly F-series sales to more than 80,000 units in June and July.
"We haven't seen this kind of volume since 1978, and that was B.C., ... before compact trucks," said Ford spokesman George Pipas.
