Conn Trombone In Godzilla
The Conn 88H Trombone, perhaps one of the world's most recognizable trombones, plays a major part in several summer blockbuster movies, albeit behind the scenes.
Well known studio musician Bill Reichenbach played the Conn trombone in the score of Godzilla. In an interview, Reichenbach described the music as 'bone-crushing.' The Godzilla soundtrack includes Arnold's two original tracks along with selections from several pop groups.
Reichenbach played the same instrument on the more subtle score for The Horse Whisperer, starring Robert Redford. Composer Tom Newman's poignant score required a much simpler style of playing, ...
