'Throwing Used Pianos Away'

For over 50 years manufacturers and retailers have cited used pianos as the industry's toughest competitor. Used piano sales remain a huge market factor that typically goes undetected by most retailers; however, Dave Brown, president of Critchett Piano in Des Moines, Iowa, feels that the used business is off the pace, which might explain the bounce in new piano sales.
