Article: WHIRLPOOL, KENMORE TOUT QUIETNESS OF NEW OVER-RANGE M'WAVE OVENS

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.-Whirlpool showed an innovative line of over-range microwave ovens at the Kitchen/Bath Show in April, but Sears was first to sell the products.

As is typical of their relationship, the Kenmore ovens hit the streets last month and the similar Whirlpool Gold models are beginning to ship. The manufacturer is a primary supplier of private-label major appliances to Sears, but never before offered microwave ovens, according to trade sources.

Each brand offers three models at 1.4 cubic feet, an increase in capacity for their hanging units. An accessory rack with more-featured models was said to accommodate four 10 1/4-inch plates simultaneously.
