Bob Collins, M.D., couldn't be happier with his computer-based patient records system. He also is quite content with the method he uses to enter patient data into the system. Collins, who builds model wooden boats in his spare time, uses a computer mouse to point-and-click his way through pre-defined data fields to input patients' health information.
'Between work and boat-building, I use my hands a lot,' says Collins, director of the Longest Student Health Center at Mississippi State University, Starkville. 'I find point-and-click data entry easy. It's never entered my mind that using a mouse could be difficult for some people.'
