USC CHEMIST DEVELOPS COST-CUTTING METHOD OF TOXIC-WASTE MANAGEMENT
LOS ANGELES, July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- A cost-cutting answer to the worldwide dilemma of toxic-waste management has been developed at the University of Southern California.
"The dilemma," says USC Distinguished Professor of Chemistry Sidney W. Benson, "is that chemical scrubbing of toxic waste is costly, burying it is both costly and risky, and burning it is extremely risky."
