Remodeling to muffle the sound of the San Diego Freeway
"We prefer to think of the traffic's constantroar as surf pounding against a shore,' say the owners of a remodeled tract house next to the San Diego Freeway in western Los Angeles. Their seaside illusion is tenable because of the meticulously worked out design of an addition to their house: it muffles freeway noise and creates visual diversion while providing needed extra space for entertaining.
