It had the ring of a debate over theproper labeling of a consumer product, but the issue this time was one that could have a profound effect on American law and social policy: Who is the real Robert Bork? Is he, as the White House asserted last week, a "mainstream jurist' who is "not a political judge' but rather a firm believer in judicial restraint?
