FOCUS ON A NEW IMAGE
If the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games were a high point for gymnast Mary Lou Retton, they were a low point for Eastman Kodak. It was archrival Fuji Photo Film of Japan that was named the "official film' for the games. The public-relations coup for the film in the bright green boxes made the folks who package their film in yellow boxes see red. Yet it also was a catalyst for an amazing comeback by an aging paunchy giant, both in the U.S. and more surprisingly on the challenger's home turf.
