CHICAGO, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The Oprah Winfrey Show will be closed-captioned for the hearing-impaired beginning Sept. 8, 1987, it was announced today by Oprah Winfrey and King World.

The Oprah Winfrey Show will become the only talk show to offer closed-captioning services to the millions of hearing-impaired, and a first for a nationally syndicated show to be closed-captioned on a live basis.
