BETZ LABORATORIES INC. ACQUIRES
COAL MINING CHEMICAL BUSINESS FROM CALGON
TREVOSE, Pa., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Betz Laboratories Inc. (NASDAQ: BETZ) announced today the acquisition of the U.S. coal mining specialty chemical business of Calgon Corp.
The acquisition, which follows Betz' recent purchase of similar business from Dow Chemical, further establishes Betz as a leader in the area of water treatment for the coal mining industry. The announcement was made by John F. McCaughan, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Betz Laboratories Inc.
