UNITED STATES MUST RE-ESTABLISH SPACE LEADERSHIP, GRUMMAN HEAD SAYS
NEW ORLEANS, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States must re-establish its leadership in manned space exploration by making the space station a primary national priority, Grumman Corporation President John O'Brien said here today. He was speaking before the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
"We have lost the pre-eminence in manned space flight we earned," O'Brien said. "Some attribute this decline to loss of focus -- to being diverted by international and domestic crises: terrorism, the search for alternative energy sources and domestic uncertainties.
